We’re delighted and humbled to be the charity partner for XDS20 Adapt in October. Thank you to all involved in XDS for this amazing news, and for the announcement that they will be donating $15,000 USD to help us bring fun and inclusivity into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games.
Going into its eighth year, XDS (External Development Summit) has adapted its format into a full virtual experience that brings together hundreds of professionals to advance the practice of external development for the games industry. The summit provides four days of expert content and structured networking.
XDS Advisory Committee Chair, Chris Wren, shares, “As we believe games are for everyone, we’re thrilled our contribution will help further promote fun, enjoyment and most importantly, inclusion for gamers with physical disabilities. Thank you, SpecialEffect, for making a difference in the lives of so many!”
SpecialEffect Founder and CEO Dr Mick Donegan replied, “The news that such a widely renowned international industry event as XDS has chosen SpecialEffect as a charity partner is a genuine honour and privilege. During these globally challenging times, it’s particularly important for us to continue to share our game accessibility knowledge and expertise with disabled gamers, those who support them and game developers, too, through freely available online resources, including our gameaccess.info site, for which this donation will provide an invaluable boost!”
