Wow, what lovely smiles from Jake and his dad in our games room this week! Jake’s using a head-operated switch to play his first ever video game.
Jake has dystonic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and finds it difficult to control the accuracy of his movements. His family aren’t gamers but his dad was keen to help him enjoy more activities, so after some expert help from our specialist assessment team here he is enjoying playing on a Nintendo Switch, using a head-operated button for acceleration in Mario Kart and for jumping in Kirby All Stars. Looks like dad’s enjoying the action as well!
Welcome to the magic of gaming, Jake!
