Smiling seated woman using adapted gaming controller

What a fantastic smile from Lucy, who’s now able to play Zelda on a Nintendo Switch despite having limited hand and finger movements following a spinal injury.

She spent time with our specialist assessment team recently, working together with them to find the most effective way for her to play games. The solution that nails it is a combination of a craftily-angled controller to suit her limited movements, plus four carefully positioned button switches for R, L, ZR and ZL, two of which she presses with her wrists. The whole setup is mounted on a comfortable hook and loop-covered lap tray.

It’s great to be able to help Lucy to enjoy gaming, and she’s already looking forward to taking on plenty of other top titles with her new setup!
