Nick was an avid gamer before his Guillain-barré syndrome stopped him playing FIFA and Fortnite with his two children. He found it a challenge to use all the buttons and joysticks together on a standard PS4 controller.
Jacob and Nomi from our specialist assessment team went out to visit him for an assessment and, after seeing he was good at using both joysticks, they mapped out the controller buttons to nine switches – eight on a laptop tray and one by his ankle. He was over the moon to be playing again!
“The smile on his face said it all,” said Jacob. “As we were leaving, he said he was going to get some practice in before his children got back from school so he could thrash them both!”
