Jazmin loves fast cars, and getting the same adrenaline rush as everyone else from driving games like Forza means a lot to her. Her cerebral palsy means that she finds it difficult to hold and use a standard controller though, and as a result she isn’t able to get the best out of her driving skills for that full-throttle experience.
Now though, the loan and support of a custom control setup from our specialist assessment team has put her firmly back in pole position.
We visited Jazmin pre-lockdown, and although in-person visits aren’t currently possible, we’re providing online support for people we help. It’s proving to be an effective temporary way to continue the provision of our lifelong service, so if Jazmin’s abilities change or she’d like to experience new games and consoles, we’ll be there to adjust or recreate her setups to help her play to the very best of her abilities.
Many thanks to Xbox, Turn 10 Studios, Playground Games, Al Compton, Jazmin and our Specialist Occupational Therapists Jacob and Cam for making this video possible.
