On the 29 May, Dan Baete set out to walk 100km from London to Brighton. A phenomenal 31 hours and 146,000 steps later he reached his goal after what he described as an ‘unforgettable experience… blisters, searing heat, walking through the night and many, many hills’. We’re completely blown away by his perseverance and dedication, and we’re so grateful to him and everyone who supported him in raising over £800 for our vital work so far. That’s one well-earned medal, Dan, thank you so much!
Dan’s gritty walk is one of many of the Ultra Challenge events we’re offering this year that are designed to test the fitness and endurance of walkers, joggers and runners along stunning heritage routes – while raising money for charity. There’s something for everyone with 25k, 50k and 100k options available, and the locations across the UK include magnificent coastlines routes and stunning countryside trails.
If you’ve been inspired by Dan’s success, find out more about signing up for an Ultra Challenge near you, putting your fitness to a real test, and helping us to transform lives.
